Greg Norman’s tagline on his Instagram page is ‘Always Attack Life’, and if you’ve seen some of the pictures he’s been posting recently, he’s certainly been doing that.

After stopping off in southern China to open his new Lakewood GC near Guangdong, the two-time major winner then went trekking in the Tien Shan hills of Kyrgyzstan, a remote country which borders China and has a population of less than six million.

Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t seem as though the Shark had any Wifi on his travels, so he’s uploaded all the pics from his travels in quick succession…

Norman tries to play a little guessing game with his followers by asking ‘where in the world am I?’ Most reply with Mongolia.

‘My mate and Seven Lakes Ranch manager Jarrod at the peak 5,371m. What a climb and view’.

Norman3

‘And when it is snowing, inside our tent. Had to be in your sleeping bag by 7.30pm the latest to stay warm until sunrise. Temp got as low as -18C’.

Norman4

‘My journey into the Tien Shan mountains Kyrgyzstan started 8 days ago. I had no idea what I was in for, but the journey is the reward. Here is a graveyard from the past Soviet Union influence’.

Norman5

‘”Snail” I called him. My means of transportation when going up the mountains but had to lead him going down. We became pals after 6-8 hrs/day in the saddle. Yes I needed that extra padding for warmth not a sore butt!!! Must admit I missed my Duke from 7Ls’.

Norman6

‘On the road from Naryn to Bishkek to fly back home. Autumn is setting in in the lower mountains of Kyrgyzstan’.

Norman7

‘Good bye Bishkek #kyrgyzstan Heading home. This trip was an adventure of a lifetime. Same clothes and no shower for 7 days. Lost a few kgs and came away mentally and physically stronger’.

Sounds like quite the trip!
