The Curtis Cup is one of the calendar’s top amateur golf events, and it visits plenty of prestigious venues.

In the past, the Curtis Cup has been held at places such as Merion, The Nairn and the Old Course, St Andrews.

• Where will the 2023 US Open be played?

In 2024, it will be played at the Berkshire venue of Sunningdale. The 2024 edition the competition will be the 43rd Curtis Cup, and it will be the first time the venue has hosted the event.

The Curtis Cup is a biennial competition, where a team of eight women amateur players from the USA go up against a team of eight amateur golfers from GB&I.

“We are determined to give the best players the best platforms on which to compete and that will certainly be the case at Sunningdale,” said Martin Slumbers, Chief Executive of the R&A, when it was announced the Curtis Cup would be going to Sunningdale.

“We know that we will be warmly welcomed and that the teams will receive enthusiastic backing from the fans in Berkshire. It promises to be another fantastic occasion in the long and proud history of this match.”

The 2022 Curtis Cup was won by the United States of America at Merion, by a score of 15.5-4.5.
