Matt Wallace produced some of his best golf in 2024, so who is his girlfriend?

The Englishman has been cheered on by his girlfriend for years, but it’s been a more successful journey recently.

Wallace, a winner on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, won his first title on this side of the Atlantic in six years at the Omega European Masters.

He beat Alfredo García-Heredia in a play-off at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Switzerland, which invoked plenty of emotion.

Matt Wallace girlfriend

Matt Wallace can count on the support of his girlfriend Chelsie Joce.

She is from Spanish descent but was born in England and studied at the University of Leeds.

That is where Joce met Wallace in 2014, and the pair have been dating since then.

As Wallace began to assert himself as a professional golfer on tour, Joce left her career behind to travel with him and started a blog called ‘Girl on Tour’.

There, Wallace’s girlfriend kept fans updated on their lives, sharing pictures from places they visited and tournaments he competed in.

But Joce’s last blog post on Instagram was in 2020.

Meanwhile, she posted just before that during the coronavirus outbreak, detailing how they dealt with the pandemic.

“Following an enjoyable week in Orlando for The Arnold Palmer Invitational, we had arrived at Sawgrass with an unsettling feeling that we probably shouldn’t be there.

“The updates on the news from Europe were increasing in severity, and honestly, more than fear, there was a part of me that felt guilt.

“Why were we continuing as usual, when other businesses, families, nations, were suffering? Precautions were in place during the week with hand sanitiser available throughout the clubhouse and golf course.

“But, walking around a course I usually thoroughly enjoy, I was all too conscious of the general public; the number of people crowded together around a green, and the risks we were all naively taking.”

It was, however, a period she says Wallace was ‘embracing’, as he felt less pressure on his game.

“For Matt, he is embracing this time where his mind is completely free. He is not stressing about perfecting his performance, the details of swing improvements, the impact of results etc.

“For the first time in a while, he is learning to be relaxed in his head space and is enjoying having time to connect with golf fans by taking part in podcasts and Instagram lives and participating in golf challenges; finding the fun in the game again.”

Despite not posting on the blog anymore, Joce still supports Matt on the golf course and is spotted with him at most tour events.

She has also filled in as a caddie at the annual Par-3 competition at The Masters. And Joce must have brought luck as Wallace won the event in 2019.
