Matteo Manassero has enjoyed a renaissance in 2024, so who is his caddie?
The Italian was once one of the most promising golfers in Europe before enduring a tough period starting in 2014.
After four wins on the European Tour, Manassero disappeared.
Six years later, he bounced back with a win on the Alps Tour and has since won twice on the Challenge Tour and on the DP World Tour.
So, who has been on his bag throughout the remarkable return?
• Who is Tommy Fleetwood’s caddie?
• Who is Rory McIlroy’s caddie?
Matto Manassero caddie
Currently, Matteo Manassero’s caddie is Job Sugranes.
While the pair worked together for Manassero’s Toscana Alps Open win in 2020, he has teamed up with several loopers.
After turning pro in 2010, Manassero had Irishman Ryan McGuigan on caddie duties.
Together, Manassero and McGuigan teamed up to success just five months later at the Castello Masters Costa Asahar.
The pair then won the 2011 Maybank Malaysian Open.
But that was before Manassero went through some poor form on the golf course and after missing the cut at The Open, looked elsewhere.
“It was very, very hard for me as Ryan has been with me from the beginning and we had two wins together and some great experiences together,” he said at the time.
“So, this will be my first week without Ryan but sometimes you need to change as while I had a good summer of golf, the scores weren’t coming.
McGuigan began working with Paul Cutler, while the move helped Manassero link up with Alberto Binaghi on a temporary basis.

Soon enough, Manassero began working with a new caddie – one familiar to some of the game’s biggest names today.
His caddie was Dave McNeilly, who is now the caddie of Northern Irishman and PGA Tour bound star Tom McKibbin.
Their victories included the 2012 Barclays Singapore Open and the 2013 BMW PGA Championship before parting ways in 2014.
So, Manassero hired Brian Martin, but his form never recovered, and he continued to slide down the official world golf rankings.
Whilst well out of the limelight, Manassero was making rare appearances in majors. One of which was the 2016 US Open, where he settled on a full-time caddie.
That was a Spaniard called Sugranes, albeit Manassero’s wife Francesca even caddied at one point.
Sugranes was a professional golfer himself, although not at the peak of the game. He made four Challenge Tour starts in 2004 and 2005, missing the cut on all occasions.
He has, however, caddied for several other familiar faces on the DP World Tour.
Those include his countrymen Adri Arnaus and Adrian Otaegui, as well as Andrea Pavan and LET winner Ana Pelaez.
