The LPGA Tour winner is one of golf’s hottest properties, but who is Rose Zhang’s caddie?

It’s no surprise that Zhang’s progress would be followed so closely, given her stellar amateur career.

To make life better, she followed that up by winning on her professional debut at the Mizuho Americas Open in June 2023.

Breaking into the professional scene is daunting for any player and Zhang has switched caddie since proving she is one of the best women golfers in the world.

Currently, Rose Zhang’s caddie is Olly Brett.

Rose Zhang’s caddie

Born in 2003, Zhang is already a winner on tour and made her Solheim Cup debut at the age of 20.

Team USA lost that match at Finca Cortesin in Spain, but it certainly won’t be the last time Zhnag tees it up for her country.

Her promise was highlighted by the fact she competed in four of the women’s major championships in 2023, finishing inside the top-ten in three of them.

As the American transitioned into life as a pro, her caddie was Jason Gilroyed.

The Canadian grew up in Edmonton and has won over 20 events since becoming a caddie on the LPGA Tour in 1996.

Including four major wins, he has worked with numerous world-class golfers such as Rosie Jones, Cristie Kerr, Jessica Korda, Anna Nordqvist and Alison Lee.

Most recently, he partnered with Minjee Lee but after splitting with the Australian, he teamed up with Zhang.

The pair met at Stanford earlier in the year and began working together in May.

However, that relationship lasted until October 2023, when Zhang decided to change things up.

She told Golf Digest: “Gilly has been amazing, and I’m just super grateful for having him on my bag the last couple months.

“After Solheim, I just felt like for me to really bring myself out, I wanted maybe a little bit of a different voice on the golf course just to change it up.

“I felt like maybe it was time for something different, and Olly was just such an amazing pick.”

Brett is an experienced caddie in his own right, as the former looper for American Danielle Kang from late 2017.

They won five times together on tour and appeared at the Solheim Cup with Kang in 2019 and 2021.

Brett, who is in a relationship with professional golfer Emily Pedersen, was on the bag for Mike Weir at the Masters in 2023.
