Bryson DeChambeau is one of the most recognisable figures in golf.
Whether it’s thanks to his unorthodox approach, long hitting or tendency to speak his mind, as well as his numerous wins on tour including a US Open, the American is one of the most well-known personalities in the game.
But who is behind his rise to the upper echelons of the sport?
There are two key men currently working with DeChambeau to make sure his unique golf game is always fine-tuned.

The first is Mike Schy, who specialises in coaching junior and college golfers in the US and also runs his own performance facility.
He first linked up with DeChambeau when the latter was a student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and is thought to be the driving force behind Bryson’s unorthodox single-plane swing.

It was while he was there that he became the fifth player to win the NCAA individual championship and US Amateur in the same year.
Schy is also known as something of a club technician and helped make DeChambeau’s one-length irons, while also encouraging him to use thicker grips.
The other coach working behind the scenes with DeChambeau is Chris Como, who Bryson said he had known for “about seven years” when he won the 2020 US Open.

He said Como had done “so many great things” while he went through his body transformation at the beginning of 2020 in order to gain more distance.
An expert in biomechanics who has had several scientific studies published in various journals, Como has a lab set up in his house, and Bryson can regularly be seen hitting shots there on social media.
Prior to linking up with DeChambeau, he spent three years working with Tiger Woods from 2014 to 2017.
