Thriston Lawrence enjoyed his best year on tour in 2024, so who is his girlfriend?

The South African turned pro in 2014 before winning on the MENA Tour a year later.

He has since followed that up with multiple wins on the Sunshine Tour and, more impressively, the DP World Tour.

While he was winless on the Wentworth-based circuit in 2024, Lawrence finished third on the Race to Dubai standings and earned a PGA Tour card.

Thriston Lawrence calls Cara-Lee Compton his girlfriend.

She also hails from South Africa and studied law at the University of Pretoria before graduating in 2019.

Currently, Compton works as a Senior Administrator at Apex Group Limited in her time off from supporting Lawrence on tour.

His girlfriend has been spotted at several tour events and was particularly proud of Lawrence when he lost in a play-off at the 2024 BMW PGA Championship.

On the Monday after Lawrence was defeated at Wentworth, she said: “I was bit teary on the stand on 18, just to see him grow as well.

“I have to share this, I woke up Tuesday morning, and the first thing I said to him was ‘I literally just had a dream where you and Billy tee off final group this week and it ended with you having a two-foot putt for the win.’

“I mean just to dream that, and we both go like ‘oh wow, that would be crazy, and it just, happens’.

“For him to realise, like he said, you’re more than good enough and you can compete on this level.

“So obviously, super proud. I’m definitely going to cry somewhere later. Just pride.”

Meanwhile, Lawrence’s girlfriend also showed her support at other events and posted about several on Instagram.

She was at Royal Troon for The Open, where Lawrence almost pulled off a shock – eventually finishing fourth – and back in Scotland again for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

According to Compton’s social media, the pair had their first date in October 2022 and that’s when they began dating.

In December 2023, she wrote: “You are my first best love, pal, teammate, dependent and boyfriend.

“With your birthday yesterday, I said thank you for a few things, but my biggest prayer every day is just thank you that I get to love you!”

Compton regularly posts on social media and has pictured herself playing golf.
