Woman charges boyfriend fee to play golf as “side hustle”

A young woman has gone viral after claiming to charge her boyfriend £40 to play golf.

Lola Owen caused a huge stir on TikTok this week after appearing to profit from her partner’s golf trips.

In a short clip posted onto the video platform, Lola – username Lolaowen6 – wrote: “This is your reminder to change your boyfriend every time he goes golfing on a weekend.”

The clip shows the boyfriend – dressed in golf attire – handing Lola a £20 note, before digging into his wallet again and bringing the total up to £40.

Lola captioned the viral post “nice little side hustle”, and the clip has already gained over two million views, with 100,000 likes.

The controversial clip has also led to streams of negative comments on the post about her apparent idea to charge her boyfriend to tee it up as part of the relationship.

“Having to pay for a social life is crazy work,” one user wrote while another claimed it was “odd behaviour.”

Lola doubled down, however, insisting this wasn’t a joke and telling “everyone crying in the comments” to “have a day off”.

In an earlier post out where she is pictured out on the course with her boyfriend, Lola wrote: “Allowing my boyfriend to play all the golf he wants so maybe one day I can be a PGA wife and take our kids to The Masters. Chase them dreams.”
