You can always rely on Wyndham Clark to say something quote-worthy.
From calling out Rory McIlroy ahead of last year’s Ryder Cup, to branding Pinehurst “borderline” on the Monday of his US Open defence in June, to declaring that the Olympics is bigger than the Ryder Cup, the American has made a string of headlines since he burst onto the scene in 2023.
He was at it again on the Sunday of the Presidents Cup.
First, he had this response to Byeong Hun An’s social media post, which appeared to criticise Clark for taunting Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim after their defeat to Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele on Saturday evening.
Then, as the US celebrated its 18.5-11.5 victory at Royal Montreal, he was at it again.
By the time Clark secured a half-point in his match with Min Woo Lee – taking his contribution for the week to one-and-a-half points from a possible four – the United States’ win had already been secured.

Asked to articulate the vibe in the team room all week, Clark had plenty to say – some of which is sure to pique interest in Europe ahead of next year’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage.
“We are a very close team,” said the major champ. “Contrary to what people thought last year at the Ryder Cup, we were in my opinion closer than the Europeans.
“The media tries to divide us apart, and this year we were just as close if not closer. We had so much camaraderie and positive energy between us.
“When things weren’t going well, we still were all picking each other up. It was an amazing team room. So many laughs, so many fond memories.”

Closer than the Europeans? Bold!
Asked to elaborate on what he and his teammates had that made them too hot for Mike Weir’s Internationals team to deal with in the Presidents Cup, Clark added: “I think we all just have a little bit of dog in us is really what I’d say.
“I feel like we’re the best players in the world for a reason, and I think you get us all together, and I just think we have a little extra something that maybe other people don’t have. I think it’s the little dog in us.”
How loud that dog barks at Bethpage, we’ll find out 12 months from now.
