World-renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio’s redesign of one of Ireland’s most distinguished golf resorts is set to be completed in a matter of months.

Fazio, whose portfolio includes the No.4 and No.8 courses at Pinehurst and Lake Nona in Florida, is in the final stages of putting his stamp on Adare Manor, which is currently recognised as the top parkland golfing experience in Ireland.

The whole resort is set to reopen in autumn 2017  after being closed for 18 months with the championship course, which is set amid a 14-acre lake and the River Maigue, entirely restructured along with a new arrival experience, driving range, caddie programme and clubhouse.

“We are extremely honoured to partner with Tom Fazio on the creation of what will be a very special golfing experience” said Colm Hannon, CEO of Adare Manor, when plans for the redesign were announced.

“Mr Fazio’s reputation as an exceptional course designer precedes him and our guests and members will benefit from his expertise and passion for creating stunning yet sustainable golf courses.”

Each hole will have distinct character and strategic playability options for a complete golf experience for all levels from forward tee to back tee players.

In addition to incorporating basic qualities for the majority of golfers, Fazio has also been charged with considering the design strategy and infrastructure commitments necessary to host leading amateur and professional golf events.

Given Adare Manor’s distinctive ‘all world’ environment and facilities, as well as the high quality of the golf course, Fazio is confident it will be a highly sought-after location to host the world’s best players in competition.

“This course will be a total tribute to the vision and commitment the McManus family has for the region and Ireland,” said Fazio. “Our goal is for golfers to remember this course as one they dream of playing time and time again.”

In addition to the course, the Manor House has been expanded to include a new 42-bedroom wing, bringing the total room count to 104 guestrooms including the existing Manor House accommodations.
