If you’re planning a potential golfing getaway this summer, then Vilamoura, situated in southern Portugal, is the destination you want to be headed to.

It’s got over 300 days of sun, more than 40 courses to drool over and enough nightlife to keep you dancing right up until you have to fly home. The region has a wonderful supply of excellent restaurants, bars to suit all requirements and brilliant beaches. In terms of golf haunts abroad, it really does not get any better.

With golf holiday specialists Golf Kings, you can explore the very best golf courses situated in this luxury golf paradise.

You want top quality golf, and you probably don’t want to travel too far for it. Thankfully, Dom Pedro Golf has you covered, with its five-strong collection of venues in the town: Laguna, Millennium, Victoria, Pinhal and Old.

The Laguna, Millennium and Victoria are all situated next door to one other, whilst the Old and Pinhal are located just a ten-minute drive into the hills.

The Victoria is probably the standout venue and the one you’ll know best, as it recently hosted the recent Portugal Masters on the European Tour. The course is now showcasing the results of a major overhaul, which was part of a wider €4.5million “development strategy” across the five courses at Dom Pedro.

For luxury golf holidays in Portugal, the Dom Pedro’s four other courses, the Old Course especially, provide some of Vilamoura’s best deals.

The fun on the course doesn’t stop there, as if you’re feeling up to it, other courses are close too. The likes of Vale Do Lobo’s Ocean and Royal courses, Quinta do Lago (North, South and Laranjal) and San Lorenzo can be found only 15 minutes away.

The golf holiday specialists Golf Kings offer numerous holiday packages, with many of the region’s finest resorts to pick from. With so many four and five star options to choose from, there really is a hotel suit all budgets in Vilamoura. The Tivoli Marina is, as the name suggests, right at the marina and you either get a sea or marina view whatever price you pay.

If you would rather stay on a golf resort and yet be close to everything at night, Pestana Vila Sol would be a good fit. They offer some great value stay and play packages over the 27 holes on-site, which means no travelling to and from courses each day.

On top of all of this, flights are easy to come by, and relatively cheap, not to mention available from a number of airlines, including budget options.

Golf Kings expert tips

Make use of the Dom Pedro three, four and five round packages. This means when playing Victoria, Old, Millennium, Pinhal and Laguna, you should always book at least three rounds to get the best deal possible. As well as this, many of the hotels offer a free shuttle service to the Dom Pedro courses. This is only suitable for groups of eight or less, so for numbers greater than that, Golf Kings would recommend and book private transfers for you.
