Over the last few decades, Mauritius has established itself as a hugely popular holiday golf destination.

On a similar note, the Heritage Golf & Spa played host to the island’s first-ever European Tour event in 2015, the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, won by South Africa’s George Coetzee. Located on the Domaine de Bel Ombre, the magnificent course is part of a five-star experience at the Heritage Resort.

Le Touessrok, meanwhile, is one of the most spectacular golf courses in the world. Contained within the tiny island of Ile aux Cerfs, the Bernhard Langer-designed layout is thought to have cost as much as $11.5m to build and opened for play in 2003. In the time since, it has cemented its place as one of the top places to play on Mauritius, with its beautiful white sand bunkers, ocean views and colourful, indigenous fauna creating a veritable feast for the senses.
