Turkey’s reputation as a great golf destination continues to grow with each passing year and 2014 looks like being no exception.

As well as staging the penultimate event on the European Tour’s Race To Dubai, the lucrative Turkish Airlines Open, the country is also expected to build on findings from a report last year that put it as the fourth most popular golf travel destination in the world, behind Spain, Portugal and Scotland.

The Antalya Province, on the Mediterranean coast, is where the pick of the courses are to be found, with the Antalya Golf Club one of the stand-out golf complexes.

Home to two sensational 18-hole courses, the PGA Sultan and the Pasha, the PGA-affiliated club has become immensely popular with tourists and tournament operators alike over the best part of the last decade, hosting at least one PGA tournament every year since 2009.

“Our relationship with the PGA means we are always obliged to keep our courses at their highest levels,” explained general manager Ugur Budak, which, of course, should be music to the ears all visiting golfers.

This November, Antalya GC will play host to two PGA events: the Golfplan PGA Pro-Captain Challenge will be played there for the fourth time, followed by the Titleist PGA Play-Offs, won last year by Scotland’s Greig Hutcheon. And if it’s good enough for the cream of British professional golf, it’s good enough for the rest of us.
