How would you like a taste of Augusta National right here on the shores of the UK?

Well, that is possible at the magnificent, four-star Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in the picturesque county of Northumberland.

With an exquisite Edwardian mansion, Slaley Hall is a classy golf trip and even better staycation.

It acts as the centrepiece of the resort, nestled in the countryside and designed to offer the ultimate in relaxation.

There are amazing early bird offers of a free Cobra Driver worth £429 for groups of 20 or more and 1 in 12 goes free from £115pp that run out on February 28. So, now is the time to book your dream trip to this stunning destination.

So what makes Slaley Hall the Augusta of the North?

World class golf

The 9th on the Hunting Course is just one of the many picturesque holes Slaley Hall has to offer.

Slaley Hall has two stunning championship layouts that take their place among the more than 1,000 acres of rolling land.

The Hunting

The Hunting Course, designed by Dave Thomas, is the showpiece track and is rightly regarded as one of the finest courses in the region.

Its undulating fairways, streams and lakes, towering trees and banks of rhododendrons have earned the Hunting Course the nickname ‘Augusta of the North’.

There is no green jacket on offer, but the course has played host to more than 20 international tournaments including European Tour, Asian Tour, European Seniors Tour and PGA Cup events.

Major stars, including Graeme McDowell and Tom Kim, broke ground on the setup in 2024, when Slaley Hall staged the International Series for the first time.

Truly bucket-list material, its own Amen Corner is special.

The Priestman

The 12th green at The Priestman.
The Priestman provides a beautiful test for golfers of all skill levels.

But equally addictive is the Priestman Course, which is also well worth your time. Crafted by Neil Coles, it’s another 18-hole course that is no slouch.

Set on higher ground with unforgettable views of the Tyne Valley and beyond, it meets the highest standards of both playability and aesthetics.

Another that has played host to the pros, the Priestman is crisscrossed by streams, while the wind can make pars hard to come by, and a post-round bite to eat or drink taste even better.

There are few places better to start and finish your day than The Claret Jug clubhouse, named for its golf scenery, with breathtaking views out over the countryside.

This really is the perfect golf course setting with a relaxed atmosphere, dining options and an outdoor terrace overlooking the 18th green.

Outstanding practice and leisure facilities

Slaley Hall has everything the avid golfer could wish for in its stunning grounds.

Off the course, golfers can hone their skills at the full-length driving range, which boasts both indoor and outdoor bays, as well as dedicated short game areas with putting and chipping greens.

Now, the golf will undoubtedly pique your interest, but the resort has so much more to offer. A state-of-the-art Spa offers quiet relaxation, and a large, heated pool provides fun for all the family. The more adventurous among us can even try their hand at clay pigeon shooting and off-road driving. Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort epitomises the notion that you don’t have to travel far to find the golf getaway you need.

Stunning accommodation and dining

At Slaley Hall there is something for everyone, where you can escape the everyday for guaranteed sleep and complete comfort.

You can choose from a delightful bedroom in the contemporary New Hall wing all the way up to a breathtaking Suite located in the atmospheric Edwardian mansion.

All the bedrooms are elegant with contemporary decor and many enjoy spectacular views over the glorious green of the golf courses and surrounding countryside.

You can even bring your four-legged friend along, as a range of rooms are dog friendly.

Then there’s the delicious cuisine. With a choice of restaurants, bars and al fresco dining, you can experiment with dishes and do away with routine. There’s a unique charm to each restaurant and bar from Hadrian’s Brasserie to the Claret Jug and Whisky Snug.

Dinner inclusive packages for adults include meals up to a value of £32pp (drinks not included). Children four years and younger can enjoy two courses for free when dining with an adult.

If you’re staying for two nights or more, you can get 10% off the bill if you dine at the hotel for a second time and order three courses (coffee counts!).
