Fail to prepare, prepare to fail
Whether it’s your golf shoes, that extra pair of socks or even a phone charger, don’t leave packing until an hour before you leave. If you’re flying and sending your clubs into the sky, then make use of the 23kg you have at your disposal. Double-check the weight before you set off and, if you can, stick in some clothes to lighten the luggage you’re carrying. One more thing: pack extra balls and tees. You won’t regret it.
Baggage tracker
A lifesaver for any golf holiday. Taking your clubs with you can be daunting but a baggage tracker will give you peace of mind that they’re heading in the right direction. One of these will set you back around £20 on Amazon but they’re worth every penny. Simply pop it in your golf bag and monitor its movements on your phone.
Renting clubs
Taking your own clubs is great but it’s important to realise it comes with the risk of losing or damaging them. Or, if you don’t fancy the hassle of lugging them around, renting is a great alternative. Some providers will set you up perfectly for designated areas like the Algarve or Costa del Sol, too.

Insurance
Hopefully we’ve already convinced you to take out golf insurance for your next trip. If not, we’re disappointed. Seriously, though, we can’t understate the importance of being covered for all eventualities. It might seem like stating the obvious but travel insurance is a must if you’re heading overseas.
Early bird catches the worm
It seems like the difficulty of getting the golf holiday out of the group chat is a thing of the past. More and more golfers are travelling the globe to get their golf fix, so don’t wait around. Flick back through this guide, pick a spot and go! Trust us, you’ll wish you booked even sooner.
