Founded in 1878, Royal Troon has grown from boasting five holes to becoming a world renowned links golf club, where the Old Course is part of The Open rota.
Located in Troon, in South Ayrshire, the club lies between the Firth Clyde and the town of Troon, commanding stunning views out to Ailsa Craig and Arran.
The first and last golf club in the world to be granted Royal status under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, Royal Troon takes pride in it's championship Old Course, measuring just over 7,200 yards.
From start to finish this is as fine a test of golf as you'll find anywhere in the world, with the most famous hole being the eighth or, as most know it, the 'Postage Stamp'. At just 126 yards, it is the shortest on any of the Open courses but there have still been many catalogues of disaster there over the years.
