Nestled in the heart of the Scottish Borders, this nine-hole design is well worth the huge climb. The course is perched above Galashiels and offers stunning views over the valley and rolling hills below. It was originally designed by the world-renowned golf course architect James Braid and dates all the way back to 1884.
There are just nine greens, but the course at Galashiels Golf Club plays off 16 tees, allowing for a varied test for visitors. Anticipate a huge, winding walk, but you will be rewarded with unmissable views of the Borders when you reach the tenth tee. The course is just a 15 minute walk from the Galashiels train station, making it an easily accessible venue in the Scottish Borders.
