Tillicoultry is an attractive nine-hole course in a spectacular setting at the base of the Ochil Hills, which, besides other things, offers fine views over the Devon Valley from its highest points.
The short holes are a special feature of this course. The third, 'Couthie Corner', has a well-elevated tee and plays to a green guarded by bunkers at the front and to the right while a large beech tree and out-of-bounds punish wayward shots on the left.
The sixth and 15th, 'Brugglie Bank', plays 84-yards on the first circuit of the course and 143-yards on the second. Despite its modest length this hole is no pushover as the green is tiny and protected by a burn on its front edge.
For a short course that is packed with quality, you don't really have to look too much further.
