This is a pleasant nine-hole layout set out on rolling lush parkland just half a mile from Wigtown centre. The course is a haven for those seeking relaxing golf and a friendly atmosphere within the Dumfires and Galloways region.
From the fourth tee there are magnificent views of Wigtown Bay and across the Solway Firth to the Lake District Hills. The nine holes, in general, are fairly forgiving off the tee, but that doesn't mean there is a shortage of variety.
A few dog legs will have you working the ball across the fairways, but the biggest danger is green side bunkers - in superb condition, guarding holes six to nine.
During the week it is relatively easy to get on the course and visitors' tee times are not restricted, but it is probably best to phone at the weekends, and it'll be worth the wait.
