Cardross is one of those courses that deserves far more attention. The club has built a reputation for producing some very promising young players, who have thrived on the amateur scene.
It's no wonder, too, as the course has the right amount of grit to make a test, but it's certainly one you will want to play again. Cardross has a strong championship pedigree, having hosted the Scottish Professional Championship.
Future Open champion Paul Lawrie won that event in 1992, and it still plays up to scratch now. Overlooking the River Clyde, it's always a pleasant surprise to know the course is in immaculate condition, and often well before other courses in the area.
