Turnhouse bills itself as the "best-kept golf secret in Edinburgh and the Lothians" - and with some justification, too!
Located to the west of Scotland's capital city, just a short drive from Edinburgh International Airport, it is a smashing course that ticks every single box.
The Pentland Hills to the south, and Fife and the Ochils to the north, provide a picturesque backdrop to course that is laid out in two loops of nine, each of which starts and finishes in front of the clubhouse.
The best hole? That's a competitive field but there are two that stand out in particular: the 402-yard third and the long par-3 17th. Both will linger long in the memory.
