Cowdenbeath, located six miles east of Dunfermline, is a relatively new course which was completed in 1988.
It was built on the site of the old Dora coal mine and, hence, is often referred to as Dora. It was recently extended to 18 holes and is now a course that's full of character and will challenge you, even at the best of times.
There are soft undulations to the course, so expect a variety of bounces off the fairway, although that only adds to the excitement and scope of shot-making possibilities.
At just under 6,000 yards, Cowdenbeath offers a nice mixture of par-3s, 4s, and 5s, with the fourth hole going down a treat. It measures just over 100 yards, so it's a quirky little hole you'll want a few goes at.
