Cowglen is very much part of a successful group of popular Glasgow courses, with an interesting variation and some deceptively tricky holes.
It's a reasonably short course but you still have to play well to score, and although it is built around a hill, it is not overly taxing on the legs.
There are, however, several good holes that take advantage of the elevations. The eighth is a par five and standing on the tee on a good day you can see much of Glasgow with the green way below - a hole to unleash your meanest drive on.
Cowglen's greens are generally quite small and in the summer they can become quite difficult as the balls will readily bounce and run on, but should you want to prepare properly, then head over to the excellent practice facilities by the course.
