With the addition of five new holes in recent years, Muir of Ord Golf Club is now home to one of the highland's most enjoyable golf courses.
A heathland course with tight fairways that is known for its well-conditioned greens it presents a fun test.
The course is dissected into three sections by way of the Inverness to Wick railway line, giving it a unique appeal.
Back to back par-3s, the 12th and 13th, offer tricky but very different tests, with the 12th needing a well struck long-iron, and the 13th a high flighted wedge.
Founded in 1875 it has been developed in parts by James Braid and much of his work is still in existence today. It has a tough stretch of closing holes, including the difficult par-4 18th, which is played to a raised green, where out of bounds awaits errant shots.
