Often regarded as the black sheep of the St Andrews Links family, the David McLay Kidd-designed Castle opened in 2008 to take the Trust's portfolio to seven.
Perched on the clifftops above the Old Grey Toun, the Castle course has much more of a modern links feel to it - think Kingsbarns or Dumbarnie - and has quickly become a favourite with locals and visitors alike due to its challenging but fun fun nature.
The stand-out hole is the par-3 17th, which requires a carry across a ravine on the edge of the cliffs. If it's blowing a gale, then you'll need help from the Golf Gods to find the putting surface. Pure theatre that can make or break your scorecard.
