Founded in 1892, West Lothian was originally laid out by Willie Park Jnr as a nine-hole course. The course was completely redesigned in 1975 by Fraser Middleton over an area of 148 acres and was opened in 1979.
Now, West Lothian offers superb views over the Firth of Forth and the membership prides itself on the quality of the greens and fairways which are kept well manicured and maintained.
The championship course between Bo'ness and Linlithgow is in an ideal spot for golfers in the central belt and is spoiled for both views and course quality.
That has been proven by the fact West Lothian has hosted the PGA Young Professionals Championship on several occasions and in 2022, it will be home to the Lothians Team Championship and a venue for the SGL Scottish Medal Final Regional Qualifier.
