Originally laid out in 1895 by James Braid, Kirkintilloch is an 18-hole parkland course on the outskirts of Glasgow, in the 'Canal Capital of Scotland'.
Regarded as having some of the finest greens in the country, Kirkintilloch lies on ideal golf land with stunning views of the Campsie Fells and Clyde Valley. And at just over 5,800 yards, it's an enjoyable walk with no major hills or long strolls to tee boxes.
The opening couple of holes are a good test with narrow fairways and plenty of bunkers to keep you busy. A few feature holes include the second, which is a neat par-3 to a raised green and the 11th, which is a short par-5 guarded by sand traps.
The fairways are a joy to play from given their conditioning and an array of vibrant flowers and bushes by certain tee boxes really give it a modern feel.
