At 800 feet above sea level, Shotts Golf Club offers a picturesque moorland setting equidistant between Edinburgh and Glasgow, with views sweeping from Lanarkshire to Ayrshire.

Founded in 1896 and updated by James Braid 40 years later, Shotts offers well-groomed fairways and greens as well as a variety of holes.

The standout hole here is Devil's Elbow, Shotts' notorious 409-yard fourth hole that wraps around the out of bounds and demands two well-struck shots to reach the sloped green has ruined many a card.
