Once a nine-hole course laid out by the famous Willie Fernie, Strathaven developed to the full 18 in 1965 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
A tough final stretch awaits, including two of the four hardest holes on the course, but it is the long 462-yard par 4 16th that holds perhaps the strongest challenge as you attempt to navigate a tight, tree-lined tunnel on your way to a guarded green.
Sitting just 20 miles outside Glasgow city centre, Strathaven has a long and impressive history of hosting a variety of top golf tournaments - most recently the 2021 Scottish Girls Amateur Championship.
