Situated in Markinch near Glenrothes and set within 140 acres of superb woodland, this course opened in 1983 and, with a par of 71 and measuring 6,200 yards from the men's tees, is a solid challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Balbirnie Park prides itself as Fife's finest parkland, with rolling hills providing a varied and unique test on a leafy layout.
The closing hole at Balbirnie is well worth the wait. The back nine starts and ends with a par-5 and the 18th known as "Back Burn" is an impressive hole to finish on. Two big hits will be required on the 496-yard hole, while the approach shot requires laser accuracy to avoid bunkers on the right, trees on the left and the devilish burn protecting the green.
