Auchenblae is a short but demanding nine-hole course hidden away in rural Aberdeenshire.

Boasting picturesque views of the local countryside and beyond, this course is rather pleasing on the eye - that doesn't mean it can't throw up a challenge or two. Small and hard-to-hit greens are a notable feature of this course.

Although it's just a nine hole course, the 13th hole has a different green from the fourth green, so if you play twice, there's variety to be had.

It's one of the most popular nine-hole courses in the region, with locals particularly enjoying the well manicured fairways and greens throughout the summer months.

It's not a long course, so if you're someone who has taken up golf recently, this is the ideal place to go
