DP World Tour golf hasn’t finished for the year just yet.
A week after the 2022-23 season-closing DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, the European circuit heads to South Africa as it kicks off the 2023-2024 campaign with the Joburg Open.
The co-sanctioned event with the Sunshine Tour offers plenty of South African talent to go up against some established DP World Tour pros in a stronger field with a healthy prize purse.

Dan Bradbury is the defending champion after his fairytale victory in last year’s event.
The Yorkshireman was playing on a sponsor’s invite in last year’s event on only his third professional start, and beat Sami Valimaki by three shots to claim the title and a two-year Tour exemption.
Past winners of this event also include home heroes Thriston Lawrence, Charl Schwartzel and Branden Grace.
Let’s take a look at all the details ahead of the tournament in Johannesburg…

Zander Lombard 25/1
Lombard finished in a tie for 22nd in a field stacked full of the DP World Tour’s finest last week in Dubai and he is match-ready against a much weaker field in his homeland. It’s been a solid 2023 for Lombard with three runner-up finishes, and he is primed to contend in a tournament he will back himself to win.
