Irish Open

With the dust settled over the European Ryder Cup team, a quieter week can be expected on the DP World Tour.

But it won’t be at the Horizon Irish Open, as a star-studded field heads to the Emerald Isle.

Masters champion Danny Willett will tee it up with a host of big names, but none more than Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott.

The pair have played the event before, but it’s a landmark week for the Australian, who will make his 250th DP World Tour appearance.

The popular event is returning to the former Ryder Cup venue for the first time since 2016, so here is everything you need to know…

The bunkered bet

Adam Scott 20/1

The Aussies have a decent record in this event, and Adam Scott can be the next man from down under to lift the title. Without a win, it has still been a fairly solid season for Scott and he arrives in Ireland for his 250th DP World Tour start after a month off. He has gained strokes right across the board on his last two starts and won’t be far off with a repeat performance.
