A Hampshire golf club has released incredible footage of two preposterous thieves stealing from their pro shop.

Royal Winchester Golf Club‘s account shared a social media video on Sunday showing two chancers stealing putters from their pro shop before immediately leaving the premises.

The extraordinary footage shows two thieves colluding to take the clubs, with one shoving the putters down his trousers with the help of his accomplice.

The putters were believed to be Scotty Camerons, which are valued at £425 a piece.

Ferndown Forest Golf Course shared the footage, joking that the hilarity of the incident made the theme tune of Benny Hill appropriate.

“The standard of crooks today has really gone down hill,” the post said. “Watch this from yesterday at our Royal Winchester Shop…. Just needs a Benny Hill tune played over the top. I promise it is real and not a set up.”

The account then clarified: “Before anyone asks, the staff were by the door speaking with another customer.

“These two walked out and got in to their van and drove away. We have all their details and have since identified them.”

The Royal Winchester Golf Club then took to Facebook to confirm that the matter is now being handled by police, with the putters back in the pro shop.

“Thank you everyone…. Due to the power of social media we have found them and we have our putters back,” the post read. “We will let the police deal with them now.”

The footage catching the thieves in the act has now gone viral, with over 150,000 views on Twitter alone and over  1,000 shares on Facebook.
