Caledonia Best are giving one winner and two friends the chance to win a round with Ryder Cup hero Sam Torrance on the Brabazon course at The Belfry.
Torrance, who enjoyed three victories in four Ryder Cup appearances at the renowned Midlands resort, has been filming for a new Caledonia Best promotion for Scottish golf fans, reliving some of the most iconic moments of his 40-year career.
The promotional films see Torrance share emotive tales of his Ryder Cup memories and also recreate his much-celebrated putt on the 18th green from 1985, a moment he described as ‘life-changing’.
We showed part one here, and in part two, Torrance relives the walk down to the first tee at the Brabazon course and remembers, as captain in 2002, how he told every player that they’d ‘remember this day for the rest of their life’.
In part three, the Scot, who has 21 European Tour victories, talks about the iconic tenth hole of the Brabazon course, recognised worldwide as one of the best par-4s in golf.
Torrance explains why as captain he chose to use a different tee to the one which Seve Ballesteros drove the green from in 1978, a decision which paid dividends as he led the team to victory.
Torrance then looks back to the 1985 Ryder Cup in part four, where he talks about his emotions of teeing off on the 18th as he looked to complete Team Europe’s first win for 28 years.
And finally, the 61-year-old reminisces about sinking his putt on the 18th and recalls being overwhelmed by the reactions of fans and team-mates alike, emphasising what a truly special place The Belfry is to him.
Sam Torrance :: Win a round!
