With the new season about to start, it’s the perfect time to look at getting yourself a South Lanarkshire golf season ticket.

There’s a huge range of opportunities open to the public in South Lanarkshire and the council’s Rover 1 ticket gives you access to all of them.

As the sun begins to shine on our fairways once again and the greens start to run fast and true, we’re all itching to get back in the swing of things.

But what gives you the best value when teeing it up?

Here are five reasons you might want to look at buying a South Lanarkshire golf season ticket…

South Lanarkshire golf season tickets are great for all abilities

You don’t have to be Rory McIlroy or Jon Rahm to enjoy the golf available under South Lanarkshire’s season tickets. From novices to the most skilled players there are courses to suit your skill level. The golf Rover 1 ticket takes in six great courses which each offer a different test. There are three courses of over 6,000 yards with pars of 72 as well as a par 68 5,500-yard track and two nine-hole courses. Public courses are also always friendly and welcoming, with everyone from the starter to the greens staff keen to see people enjoy their round whatever their level.

You get great value for money

If you buy a South Lanarkshire golf season ticket, you’ll be getting some of the best value golf available anywhere in the country. Private club membership can get close to £1,500 and even above these days. But South Lanarkshire’s Rover 1 ticket costs just £508 for an adult with concessions available for those under 22, as well as under-25s and seniors. You can also get a Rover 2 ticket for £310 that covers golf on the Larkhall and Strathclyde Park nine-hole courses, while the youth Rover ticket for £75 automatically covers all six layouts.

It’s the perfect way to develop your game

With the variety of golf on offer, South Lanarkshire is a great place to learn the game. Golfers can try out the shorter layouts and nine-hole courses before testing themselves on the longer tracks. The nine-hole Strathclyde Park course also has an excellent putting green and short game area that is both inclusive to Rover ticket holders and available as a pay-as-you-go practice facility.

There is amazing variety with South Lanarkshire golf season tickets

Join a golf club and you’re likely limited to playing one or maybe two courses for the price of your membership. With the Rover 1 ticket you get access to six! But you can tailor your ticket to your golfing needs. If you think you’ll only have time to play nine holes regularly then the Rover 2 ticket with its access to Larkhall and Strathclyde Park is the one for you. Season tickets are available for the individual courses too. On top of this, each course has an independent club onsite that you can join for a fee. They provide the chance to get a handicap and play in events, with block bookings provided for their competitions. It means South Lanarkshire can cater to all levels, from those playing casually with friends to the club golfer who likes the competitive element of being a member and having a handicap to participate in competitions.

You get access to great courses

The courses available through the South Lanarkshire golf season ticket are all outstanding layouts. Torrance House has an excellent reputation throughout the area which has seen it become a favourite for annual events. Its signature hole is the 18th which is framed by a 15th Century tower house. Biggar is a short course set amongst the hills which tests your accuracy off the tee. Hollandbush is a delightful mix of moorland and parkland with a spectacular par-three 13th hole that plays downhill to a picturesque green. Langlands is a fun track where the wind can dictate the toughness of the test. Meanwhile, Larkhall mixes par threes, fours and fives over its nine holes and has greens that remain playable all year round. Strathclyde Park borders a nature reserve and is in turns fun and testing.

So, if you’re looking to get the most out of your game this year, get yourself a South Lanarkshire golf season ticket.
