Will Zalatoris is one of the most powerful golfers on tour, so who is his coach?
After a promising amateur career, the US star turned pro in 2018. He attended Wake Forest University and was a Walker Cup winner.
Teammates of Collin Morikawa and Cameron Champ, he has delivered on his promise and won on the PGA Tour.
Thanks to his exceptional long game, Zalatoris also has three runner-up finishes in major championships.
But his recent years have been plagued with injuries and as he looks to return to his best in 2025, he’ll have top coaches by his side.

Will Zalatoris coach
Currently, Will Zalatoris works with two coaches: Josh Gregory and Troy Denton.
Josh Gregory is Zalatoris’ performance coach, and was on-site for his win at TPC Southwind.
He is a performance golf coach based at Maridoe Golf Club, near Texas, where Denton happens to be the head professional.
Denton, meanwhile, is the swing coach of Zalatoris and has been for several years. It is believed that the pair of coaches began working together with Zalatoris in 2019.
Zalatoris was struggling with his short game and Gregory, who specialises in that area, could help out.
“He was a perfect candidate for what I do,” he told the PGA Tour. “It’s how to practice. It’s consistency and work ethic – games and drills. It involves a plan like a syllabus in college.
“That’s perfect for his nature. He’s extremely structured in everything he does.
“That’s where the immediate connection was. Most importantly, he always worked hard. He just needed a bit more consistency for how to go about things each day.”
Gregory has worked with several tour pros, including Patrick Reed. The pair worked together for Reed’s Masters win in 2018.
Meanwhile, he’s also played a temporary role on the bag of Zalatoris.
The week before his first win, Gregory was a stand-in caddie, after Zalatoris ended his partnership with Ryan Goble.

Denton, on the other hand, is Zalatoris’ long-time swing coach. He was a top player in his own right and has worked with many PGA Tour players.
After spending seven months in rehab during 2023, Zalatoris made his return from injury. He said that upon his comeback, he dived deep into his swing with Denton.
The pair made a few tweaks to try and keep Zalatoris at the peak of his ball-striking powers.
He told Golf Digest: “I’m doing things in my golf swing now where I think the key word is simple.
“I was changing motor patterns before; now I’m just simplifying my golf swing. I had the big C at the finish. I had really high hands.
“The way I would come down with the club is create the reverse C coming down to the ball, and now I’m more rotary, more horizontal.
“It’s a lot simpler, so easier to fix. For me, one week I would have to play a cut, one week play a draw, and time it up with my hands.”
“Now I feel it’s more bigger muscles.”
