Anthony Kim returns to action this week at LIV Golf Jeddah, after 12 years away from the professional game. He arrived in distinctly non-golf attire on the range in Saudi Arabia, but what brand of shoes was he wearing?
Those shoes are part of an outfit that certainly caught the eye, purely because it was so unlike what we expect to see on the golf course. In his first two appearances back on the course in Jeddah, Kim has been wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of baggy gym shorts.
Whether the 38-year-old will wear that when the tournament gets underway on Friday remains to be seen, however. If we had to bet on what shoes he’ll be wearing, we’d be fairly confident he might turn out in some FootJoy’s, purely since he looks to be gaming a set of Titleist clubs. But at this point, that’s pure speculation. For what we do know about his equipment setup, click here.
However, in his first two days at Royal Greens, Kim has been wearing Autry trainers, a brand that many outside of the USA might not be familiar with. On Tuesday, when Kim was first spotted, he was wearing Autry Whirlwind Runner panelled nylon sneakers.

On Wednesday, where Kim took to the course, he was still wearing the brand’s trainers, but a different model. This time, he was wearing Autry’s Action slogan-print sneakers.
These are branded with a slogan, We Are Action People, something which appears on some of the brand’s apparel, too. Here’s a closer look at them.
Autry describe themselves a brand hailing from Texas, saying that the “Stars and Stripes flag emblazoned next to the logo is a sure giveaway.”

They go onto say that they’re a heritage label that first launched in the ‘80s, but are now enjoying a resurgence following a 2019 relaunch. We have a feeling that Kim sporting them might just help their resurgence even further.
The brand continues on its website, saying: “Inspired by vintage styles and specialising in tennis pairs, Autry is best known for its signature ‘Medalist’ trainers. American in style and spirit, this signature trainer is distinguished by its smooth profile and retro aesthetic.”
Known better for their roots in tennis, Autry trainers are currently on the feet of the most-talked about golfer of the moment.
