It may not be one of the first names you think of when buying a new pair of golf shoes, but Callaway is attempting to put that right by launching what it is calling its most advanced line of footwear ever.
The company experienced a 50% growth in its European footwear sales last year and it says the new range has been designed to ‘accurately address a range of playing styles’ and to help golfers get the most out of their game.
The new range includes 41 different shoes styles and colour combinations which are split into four categories – X Series, Chev Series, Del Mar Series and Sky Series.
The headline shoe for 2016 is the Xfer Nitro (£89.99), which Callaway has designed to make sure you’re feet are always in solid contact with the ground, while helping to give you more power through your swing.
The Chev Oxygen shoe (£69.99) is described as ‘air conditioning for you feet’ because it is so lightweight, cool and comfortable. Callaway has added further to the performance by including its Big Bertha Power Cleat, keeping you steady throughout your swing.
If you’re after a spikeless shoe, the Del Mar range will be the one for you. The Del Mar Sport is set to be one of the most popular designs and with a price tag of £79.99 it doesn’t cost the earth. It’s the lightest leather shoe in that category and is really comfortable. It also comes in four colour options.
Finally, there is the Sky Series designed for ladies. The Sky Series Playa shoes (£69.99) have a clean look and have been built using the Xfer outsole that is also found in the men’s X Series shoes.
Callaway 2016 shoes ‘push the boundaries of performance’
Duncan Patmore, Callaway’s European footwear manager, said: “We feel the 2016 collection pushes the boundaries of performance to ensure we enable golfers to build a better game from the ground up. We have concentrated on the finer details with the 2016 range, using state-of-the-art technology to help golfers focus on their game.”
