Founded by Kim Braly in 2008, KBS has established itself as one of the biggest and most innovative players in the golf shafts market.

Using player feedback as its starting point, the brand has focused on creating some of the most advanced options available to maximise the performance of the golf club.

Some of its biggest successes have come in the development of graphite shafts and, with the addition of the brand-new KBS GPS putter shaft, it now offers six such shafts.

We hear you: “A graphite shaft on a putter? Why should I be doing that?”

Hopefully, this will explain…

Why change from steel to a graphite putter shaft?

A graphite shaft in a putter may sound strange at first. However, if you have a standard steel shaft in your putter, you are going to have more flex in the shaft which can cause inconsistency. This can lead to starting the ball on the wrong line, off-centre hits and general unpredictability. It all adds up to making those all-important five footers way more challenging than they need to be. The KBS GPS shaft has same weight as a regular shaft but with the added bonus of being lot stiffer. This tightens dispersion and creates better consistency, even on off-centre hits, giving you better control and a higher percentage of holed putts.

Will it improve my putting?

Almost certainly. For one thing, it has a low torque design. This keeps the putter extremely stable through impact, especially on longer putts, unlike steel shafts which don’t hold their shape as well because of more flex in the shaft. What you’re going to find on longer putts in particular is better distance control, consistency and accuracy.

What is it made from?

The KBS GPS graphite shaft is made up of premium composite materials and fibres, which is where its stiffness and stability comes from. This makes it durable and accurate, and produces incredible feel and control.

Does graphite make it heavier?

Not noticeably. Graphite is lightweight but incredibly strong. The Graphite KBS GPS shaft weighs 120g and so is essentially similar in weight to a steel shaft but, with the low torque design, is stiffer, more stable and performs more consistently.

Does it come in different colour options?

Yes, you’re free to take your pick from eight colours options through the KBS Custom Plus + department. You have the option to mix it up with something brighter or a colour to match your favourite sports team, or if you want to keep it classic you can choose either the traditional black or grey option.

RRP: £140
