Excuse the immodest post but we’ve just hit a rather impressive milestone (if we do say so ourselves).  

The 200th edition of our award-winning magazine bunkered is about to land on subscribers’ doormats and newsstands.  

Launched in 1995, bunkered quickly established itself as the No.1 magazine from the ‘home of golf’. With a uniquely Scottish edge, it has documented all of the key moments in the game’s recent history – from Paul Lawrie’s Open victory in 1999 to Tiger Woods’ 15th major success at the 2019 Masters – amassing a large and loyal band of readers along the way.  

Heralded for giving golfers expert advice on what to play, how to play and where to play, bunkered has also given readers exclusive access to some of the biggest names in the game, such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Gary Player and more.  

It has created hundreds of playing opportunities and, at every opportunity, strived to be the voice and champion of the grassroots golfer.  

Acquired in 2018 by media powerhouse DC Thomson, the 200th edition coincides with the decision to increase the magazine’s frequency from eight issues per year to ten and expand beyond Scottish retailers into the rest of the UK for the first time.

This is an incredibly exciting time in the history of our brand and we are excited to see where the next 200 issues take us.”
