A new ultra-luxury golf resort is three years away from opening its doors in the Puglia region of Southern Italy.
Set to debut in 2027, La Maviglia will feature a championship golf course surrounded by 35 luxury private villas and a small golf hotel for visiting guests.
Spanning 202 hectares, the estate will sit at the heart of the historic Primitivo wine region, ensuring a seamless blend of luxury and culture in Italy.
By enlisting a handful of the best international architects, a 16th-century Masseria will be restored and modern marvels such as the main hotel, villas, and a world-class golf course created.
Each reflecting the ultimate standards of design and craftsmanship, La Maviglia will offer a contemporary ultra-luxury experience and provide a golf course ranked among the world’s best.
La Maviglia Golf Course will be located just minutes from the picturesque beaches of the Italian peninsula and will integrate countless cultural touchstones dating back to the 16th and 18th centuries.
The design firm behind it is yet to be announced, but with ancient water features, olive vineyards and several tree varieties, the 18-hole championship course will cover a 75-hectare site on the estate.
Other golf facilities including a double-ended driving range and an extensive short game practice area will also be available.
Meanwhile, the resort, designed by Oppenheim Architecture and Enea Landscape Architecture, is owned by Ultimate Collection, a Swiss-based company led by Nicola Cortese.
Found in between Bari and Brindisi international airports, La Maviglia will also combine the luxury of the Italian coastline with an unprecedented level of hospitality, promising guests a bespoke experience.
Featuring 70 individual suites, a 20-room hotel integrated into the golf complex and a selection of 35 luxury-appointed villas, La Maviglia offers a suites-only experience.
Guests will enjoy the unfettered service alongside access to four chef-driven culinary outlets and a signature, state-of-the-art 5,000-square-meter wellness and medical spa.
It comes as Italy looks to establish itself as one of Europe’s foremost golf destinations, with Antognolla Golf among those leading the renaissance.
