An Irish boxer used a selfie with Rickie Fowler to troll Rory McIlroy over his decision to withdraw from this summer’s Olympic Games.
Michael Conlan, who won a bronze medal at London 2012 and gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow two years ago, uploaded a picture to Twitter with American Fowler, who has been wildly Snapchatting (@rickiefowler15) since arriving in Rio de Janeiro.

But this isn’t the first bit of stick Rory McIlroy has had from Irish boxers over his Rio decision. Conlan’s team-mate Paddy Barnes said in an interview last month that the four-time major winner was ‘talking s***’ with his Olympic excuses and said the only reason he wasn’t going was because there was no prize money.
And on arrival at the Olympic village, Barnes took the opportunity to take a swipe at the 27-year-old.
