When Jack South woke up this morning, he could have had no idea that his life would change in the hours that followed.
The Birmingham pro carded a stunning 59 at Leven Links to win the Motocaddy Masters on European golf’s third tier, the EuroPro Tour, and with it a bumper payday worth more than £130,000.
South, who started the day three shots adrift of overnight leader William Harrold, made the perfect start to the final round on the Fife course with birdies at the first and second.
He maintained his excellent start with five birdies on the spin from the fifth to the ninth to reach the turn in just 27 shots. Further birdies at 11 and 12 were followed by two more at 14 and 16, leaving the Tippity Green golfer the luxury of parring the final two holes to break 60.

A two-putt par at the last sealed the historic round, a two-shot victory over runner-up Josh Hilleard, and earned South the most lucrative payout of his career.
In addition to the £12,500 first prize, South – a member of the Cobra Puma NXT LVL Squad – claimed a £60,000 bonus from the equipment giants for shooting 60 or better. He also collected a £59,000 bonus from the EuroPro Tour for his sub-60 round, not to mention a Motocaddy M5 GPS with Lithium battery and a PRO 3000 Laser.

The money is particularly well timed, with South and his partner Samantha expecting their first child – a little boy – in January.
“I found that out last week,” South told the EuroPro Tour website. “It’s just motivated me so much to get to where I want to be. Thank you to the EuroPro for giving us this opportunity week in, week out. Samantha was crying on the phone.”

“I went for it today. The course is fantastic, the spectators, the members, the pros and captains – they’ve been so welcoming. We’ve had the perfect sunny day.
“I didn’t think it was possible to win that on the EuroPro let alone in a day. I can’t put it into words. It’s almost like a win on the main tour isn’t it? Onwards and upwards.”
