One essential piece of kit that every player needs is a golf bag. For some, that might be a bag that goes on a trolley, but for many, the option to carry their clubs is appealing. That’s why we’re bringing you the best golf stand bags for under £200.

There are many benefits to taking a stand bag on the golf course. For one, it’s easy to simply take your bag out of the car and head straight to the first tee, without needing to set an electric trolley up.

As well as that, particularly in the winter months, it means there’s less need to clean an electric trolley after your round. Also, carrying your clubs will help the fairways of your club in the winter, as you won’t be taking any wheels over the softer ground.

For those of us who like to hit the driving range, a stand bag is also useful, as they’re generally easier to take to the practice ground.

But what are some of the best and most affordable options when it comes to stand bags?

Here’s our list of the contenders for the best stand bags under £200 for 2024.

Big Max Dri-Lite Seven G
A lightweight bag that makes no compromises when it comes to the weather.

PROS

  • Very cost effective
  • As the name suggests, it's light and waterproof
  • Very protective of your clubs with padded top

CONS

  • Only four pockets isn't quite as many as other options
Available for £129.99 from Big Max

As the name suggests, this bag is designed with waterproofness and ease of carry in mind.

This is going to be ideal for players who like something small, while keeping their organisation up to standard, without being overcomplicated.

This bag is also a hybrid, meaning that it has been designed with carrying and trolley use in mind. This does mean it’s a larger bag, so if you’re looking for something very compact, then you might want to look elsewhere.

Having said that, this is a great option for players looking for organisation, as well as comfort, as this bag features very well-padded straps.

A sleek and versatile option that ticks all the boxes.

PROS

  • Full of features while remaining lightweight
  • Super soft mesh hip pad is ideal for carrying
  • Four way divider at the top makes organisation easy

CONS

  • Other bags do have more pockets
Available for £179 from Callaway

A familiar name for any golfer, so you can expect quality from Callaway. It’s not just drivers and balls that Callaway excel at (there’s loads of other things, of course) but bags are certainly in their remit too.

For this buying guide, we’ve picked the Callaway Chev stand bag. This is a very well-designed stand bag that certainly looks the part, too. This features a four way divider system, which will allow you freedom to place your clubs wherever you like.

As well as that, there’s a super soft (just like their golf balls!) hip pad, which will make carrying this bag very easy. All in all, a very solid option for carrying your clubs.

Motocaddy best bags under £200
Motocaddy HydroFlex
A premium option from a brand you can certainly trust.

PROS

  • Would probably keep your clubs dry in a monsoon
  • Very lightweight, particularly for the features included
  • Strap is very adjustable

CONS

  • Other brands might be more stylish
Available for £219.99 from Motocaddy

New for 2024, the Motocaddy HydroFLEX carry bag features improved storage options for golfers, while keeping Motocaddy’s classic styling.

This is a super lightweight bag at just 2.3kg. That makes it ideal for golfers who want something easy to transport around the course. As well as that, it features a new waterproof model, meaning it will stand up to the elements you get on the course.

The HydroFlex is another bag that has been designed to fit on a trolley, specifically any in the Motocaddy range, which makes it a great option for those who will sometimes use a trolley on the course.

Although the RRP of this bag is just over £200, you can get it for just under that mark, so it makes our list. Just!

PROS

  • Great if you like the classic Mizuno look
  • Very light at just two kilos
  • Eight pockets is a bonus

CONS

  • Unfortunately not fully waterproof
Available for £180 from Mizuno

If you like a bag that stands out from the crowd, then this number from Mizuno could be for you.

Not only is it a great looking bag, but it’s going to perform very well on the course. It weighs in at just 2kg, making it extremely light. It comes with a full-length apparel pocket, as well as the usual valuables pocket you would expect.

This is certainly a bag designed to be lightweight, with just eight pockets, but it’s still super functional. Certainly a great option.

Ping Hoofer Lite
Ping Hoofer Lite
The classic golf stand bag. It's hard to fault the Ping Hoofer

PROS

  • A classic and trusted design
  • Exceptional build quality despite being lightweight
  • Available in hundreds of different colours

CONS

  • Legs could extend further at times
Available for £185 from Ping

If you think of a golf stand bag, then you’re probably going to think of a Ping Hoofer bag.

When it comes to features, you’ll do well to find a better equipped bag than the Ping Hoofer. It comes with a new strap connector, which makes it super comfortable on the course. As well as that, the shoulder pads are integrated with SensorCool Technology, to make them breathable. There’s also a cushioned hip pad for added comfort.

New for this model is a convertible strap, which can turn this bag into a single strap option if need be.

TaylorMade FlexTech
A straightforward but striking design for a top quality stand bag

PROS

  • Loads of pockets that are well placed and designed
  • Simple but eye catching design
  • Crush resistant construction inspires confidence

CONS

  • Not quite 100% waterproof but not terrible in this department
Available for £179 from TaylorMade

This is another fantastic looking bag from a brand who excel across the board. While you might not know TaylorMade for their golf bags, this is a great choice.

The FlexTech is just 2.2kg, and comes with a four-point double carry strap system, which makes this very easy to adjust and straightforward to take on and off. This bag features 11 pockets, which makes it perfect for the golfer who has plenty of accessories on the golf course. If that sounds like you, this could be something worth looking at.

Another top option from a brand, with some great colours that will have you standing out from the crowd.

Credit: Titleist
Titleist Players 4
Titleist Players 4
A premium option from Titleist, that ticks a lot of boxes

PROS

  • Top quality premium design, particularly the straps
  • Dividers at the top are fantastic quality
  • Storage space is difficult to beat

CONS

  • The strap is great, but a little more padding on the bag itself would be ideal
Available for £170 from Titleist

There’s plenty of options from Titleist when it comes to stand bags, and the Players 4 fits into this category.

This is incredibly light, weighing just 1.7kg. That’s a big plus if you want something easy to carry. As the name suggests, this comes with a four way divider, which will allow freedom to place your clubs wherever you like. The strap system on this is very comfortable thanks to the double strap with the padded centre.

What we also love about this bag is that it comes in a left-handed version. Don’t say that Titleist don’t cover all bases.

Credit: Wilson
Wilson Exo Lite
Wilson Exo Lite
Affordable but still a solid option from Wilson

PROS

  • Does what it says on the tin in terms of being lightweight
  • Premium feel despite the smaller price tag
  • Magnetic rangefinder pocket is great

CONS

  • Not the largest bag that you can get on the market
Available for £139 from Wilson

Last but not least, it’s a cost effective but worthy inclusion for Wilson.

This bag is made from sturdy but lightweight materials and has a premium, modern design. It has a full length pocket which is ideal for putting your waterproofs in, as well as a valuables pocket and a place to put your golf balls and tees. This doesn’t quite have the same compartment space as other bags, but it’s still a safe bet.

The new sturdy stand system is going to help this perform well for a long time.
