FootJoy Quantum Golf Shoes review

FootJoy say these are the most comfortable shoes they’ve ever made. That’s quite a claim from a brand who consistently make top quality golf footwear. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

The First Look

When I opened the box of these, it was clear that they’re a great looking pair of shoes. A really clean looking pair of shoes, with a good-looking design on the soles.

These are far from being a traditional looking shoe similar to the FootJoy Premiere Series or the FootJoy Pro SLX Carbon, but they’re very easy on the eye.

These come in men and women’s versions. For the men, there’s the White/Blue/Pink (main image), Grey/White/Blue and Navy/White/Lime. In the women’s version, there is Navy/White/Pink and White/Grey/Pink.

The Tech

FootJoy promise cloud like comfort from the Quantum range, here is what they have to say about the tech behind the FootJoy Quantum.

Featuring all-new golf specific technology, premium materials and an athletically inspired design, FJ Quantum provides golfers incredible comfort both on and around the golf course. Taking inspiration from traction technologies featured in Pro/SLX and HyperFlex, FJ Quantum provides exceptional performance through the golf swing while reducing walking fatigue.

Unrivalled comfort comes from a new SofFOAM midsole – the softest foam ever used in a FootJoy shoe – which delivers an incredibly cushioned ride for all-day walking and playing comfort.

The soft, plush, premium platform is complemented with a modern design featuring considered details inspired by active wear trends.

A tonal upper, colourful accents, padded mesh collar and dual density outsole add to the striking design.

Golf-specific performance is aided by the serpentine outsole design with firmer directional traction

Softer rubber traction cones help improve grip when walking on or around the course.

The bunkered Verdict

I’ve always been a big fan of FootJoy shoes and it’s mainly for the performance and looks they bring on the golf course.

I know that FootJoy are keen to provide great performance on the course, which they do, but they’re clear that these shoes are made with comfort at the forefront of the design.

I can certainly say that they’ve done that. These are incredibly comfortable on your feet. I’ve not tested this theory, but I imagine you could stand on a tee marker and barely even notice it on the course, they’re that supportive underfoot.

FootJoy say these are made with after-work golf in mind, when you’ve been on your feet all day and want something that is going to provide comfort, and they certainly fit that bill.

While they’re made for comfort ,these do provide great support, and the sole has been designed to offer traction underfoot. The sole on these is designed in a similar way to the Pro SLX Carbon range, which provides incredible grip during shots. The sole might not look like it will provide loads of traction, but it really does.

All in all, this is a FootJoy shoe that delivers fantastic comfort, without sacrificing on performance. If you’re someone who wants supremely comfortable shoes, then you’ll love these.
