If you’re in the market for a new driver this year then Callaway is always going to be great option to look at. Wether you are looking for more distance, less spin, more forgiveness or a combination they have you covered.

But when it comes to the latest drivers how do the compare to the previous generation? Well, let me tell you. We've done a Callaway Paradym vs Callaway Ai Smoke driver head-to-head comparison to find out...

LONG AND STRAIGHT!

Callaway Paradym
Long, straight and forgiving with three models to choose from.

PROS

  • 360 Carbon Chassis
  • Ai face design delivers great dispersion and distance
  • Ai Jailbreak gives you great stability
  • Face cup technology designed for faster ball speeds

CONS

  • If there is, we’d tell you
Available for £429

The Callaway Paradym TD driver was a driver I played and was arguably one of the best in 2023. It was long, straight and forgiving and went miles. With the new 360 Carbon Chassis, they were able to save weight and reposition in the club to get weight further forward for faster speeds and weight at the back for higher MOI.

Ai designed Jail Break is 33% lighter in design which provides stability in the club head, especially on those off-centre hits. With that weight saving again it allowed the R&D team to reposition weight again to maximise performance. The forged Titanium Ai face design also features Callaway's Face cup technology.

This was Callaway's most advanced Ai driver face design to date as it was fast, forgiving and optimised spin and launch. Now what was great about this range was the three models, you have the Triple Diamond for high-speed players which is low spinning and explosive of the face. The Paradym standard model which had adjustable perimeter weighting, which was forgiving with great ball speeds, then finally you had the Paradym X which was the High Launch and high MOI offering the most forgiveness.

LONGER AND STRAIGHTER!

Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke
New Ai face is longer, straighter and more forgiving with four models to choose from.

PROS

  • New Ai Smart face uses real player data called sing code
  • Mini sweet spots for off-centre hits
  • Lighter and stronger Carbon Chassis for better stability
  • More adjustable weighting
  • 4 head options to choose from

CONS

  • Colouring might to appeal to everyone
Available for £569

The new Callaway Ai Smoke is very impressive especially the new Ai Smart Face as it no longer requires the Jailbreak Technology.

Now you are probably wondering how that’s possible. With the Ai supercomputer, 250,000 swings from real golfers it has created the Ai Smart face. The new face has mini sweet spots for those off-centre strikes you’ll find you do not lose distance and in some cases, it can go further.

Not only that you can expect explosive speeds, forgiveness and impressive consistency. The 360 Carbon Chassis has been redefined and is now lighter saving that weight and being able to reposition it to maximise performance. It also has a raw carbon gloss finish on the crown which looks very slick at address.

Now with this range, you have a few differences in head options in the Triple Diamond you still have the adjustability with moving the weights from the front and back on the sole giving you the lowest spinning and fastest option possible. In the Max, you have a new low weight further forward towards the face and a new adjustable weight track so you can dial in the flight and get more distance.

The Max D is going to be your draw bias option if you hit that left-to-right shape as it is high in MOI you’ll hit straighter drives. The fourth option is the Max fast which is lighter in design for the slower speeds who need help generating speed and getting the ball in the air.

Conclusion

There’s no denying the Callaway Paradym drivers are brilliant, but with this new Ai Smart face, more distance, adjustability and forgiveness on offer it’s hard to look past the new Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke range.

If you do have a budget and the new Ai Smoke drivers are out of reach, the Callaway Paradym is an unbelievable option to go for its long forgiving and is packed with Ai tech. With three options to choose from in a low spinning option, distance and forgiveness and high MOI option your money will be well spent.

With Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke’s latest edition of the Ai Smart face offers forgiveness, distance and speed across the whole range. You’ll see longer tee shots, better dispersion and ball speeds that you didn’t think you’d achieve, and it comes in four brilliant options.

The new technology in the new Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke range is impressive. In comparison to the Callaway Paradym dispersion is tighter which is brilliant, as the ball speeds are faster. Mishits are seeing better distance and dispersion from the new Ai Smart face it’s worth the upgrade as you’ll hit longer straighter drive even if you don’t hit the centre of the face.
