ProQuip has launched their Ultimate HTX Rainwear, which is their first-ever rain jacket capable of recycling and transferring body heat.

ProQuip has been around since the 1980s and with four decades of experience, they have launched the new Ultimate HTX rainwear range featuring Intelligent Heat Transfer technology.

The new range features reflective heat capture lining, but how does it work? Let’s find out.

First Impression

When it comes to waterproofs you want them to look smart and these tick that box straight away. The Maritime Blue and Black HTX Jacket looks great. Accompanied by the HTX Black trousers, they make a solid-looking waterproof suit. So, let’s see what technology ProQuip has in store for us.

The Tech

This is ProQuip’s first-ever rain jacket capable of recycling and transferring body heat for improved performance in cold weather.

The main talking point is the Ultimate HTX which stands for the Heat Technology Extreme. The Ultimate HTX Jacket features a metallic heat capture lining, to retain and reflect body heat onto the golfer’s core, lower and mid-back for improved flexibility and mobility during the swing.

The metallic inner liner is highly breathable, allowing excess heat and moisture to dissipate while retaining and transferring the optimal level of warmth to the wearer’s lower and mid-back.

The tech-first rain jacket is made from a durable four-way stretch outer fabric. The polyester face fabric flexes and adjusts for freedom of movement during the swing, and is lightweight and breathable.

Russell Brooks, General Manager of ProQuip Golf, said: “Ultimate HTX is a breakthrough innovation in golf rainwear and the wider field of self-heating outerwear. The jacket’s ability to retain and recycle body heat means that when it rains, it warms, and fewer layers are needed in cold weather to maintain optimum comfort on the course.

“The physiological benefits of heat are well known in sports, helping to keep muscles relaxed, widening blood vessels, promoting blood flow and helping reduce soreness and stiffness.

“Playing golf year-round in cold and wet weather is challenging, which is why we combined thermal benefits with our advanced waterproofing technologies, and the result is Ultimate HTX,” said Brooks

The bunkered Verdict

It looks the part, the technology is brilliant and for £140 for the jacket and £100 for the trousers, it is a very fair price. Well done to ProQuip on that front.

When it’s cold and wet on the golf course, having technology that warms you up is invaluable. The new ProQuip Ultimate HTX rainwear will keep you protected from the elements.

We’re looking forward to taking it for a test drive on the course, so look out for a full review from the wind and rain soon.
