3. Casey Wittenberg

As the runner-up in the 2003 US Amateur Championship, Wittenberg earned a place in the 2004 Masters where he finished in 13th – the lowest amateur finish in the tournament for 41 years. Later in 2004, he turned pro but struggled to establish himself on the PGA Tour.

In 2012, he was the leading money winner on the Tour but made only eight cuts in 27 PGA Tour events the following year to lose his card.

He has been back on the ever since, where he has managed only three top ten finishes in 83 starts – although one was a win at the 2017 Chitimacha Louisiana Open.
