The final major championship of the year is upon us, as the AIG Women’s Open marks the end of another scintillating major season.
To form one of the strongest and most international fields of the year, the game’s top players will head to the south of London to Walton Heath Golf Club for the first time.
On the Old Course of the former Ryder Cup venue, Ashleigh Buhai will defend her Open title, after the South African claimed her maiden major title at Muirfield last year.
The 47th running of the championship will be contested by 144 players, and leading the home charge are Charlie Hull and Georgia Hall.

Hall won her only major championship to date at the event in 2018, while Hull remains yet to break her duct in the big five events.
From across the pond, Rose Zhang is on the hunt for a fourth consecutive top-ten major finish, as she fell short to compatriot Allisen Corpuz in the Women’s U.S. Open last month.

The bunkered bet
Celine Boutier 18/1
Boutier may not be the bookies favourite on the heathland layout but she is very much the player to beat right now and has another great chance at Walton Heath. The Frenchwoman is playing the golf of her life after following up the Evian Championship victory on home soil with the Women’s Scottish Open title at Dundonald Links last week.
